The problem of oil spillage has been a major issue in some parts of Nigeria. NOSDRA also known as the (National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency) is accusing the largest oil producers of the country for breaching the law on oil spillage in Nigeria. NOSDRA is instating that any clean up below international standard will amount to severe punishment. NOSDRA is dragging this oil company to court for failing to clean up the shoreline and for removing bulk of oil from the sand. NOSDRA believed that the company have breached the established terms and conditions for oil spillage in the country. The case has reached the court of justice and a date of hearing has been set for both the defendant and plaintiff. The court has warned that refusal to show up in court means a judgement will be passed against the defendant.
