How do you suppose you’ll make it through the gates of Heaven with stolen or misappropriated money or goods, still unresolved at the point of death or at Rapture? How will you qualify to walk the highway of holiness with tangible falsehoods and deception, unconfessed and unrenounced? “And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it (Isaiah 35:8).

Do you think you can make it through with the lie you told to get that man in trouble and destroyed his marriage? Are you sure you’ll make it with the husband you snatched from a legally married wife? What about the false witness you bore for a reward? Or, how will a ‘godly’ and churchy elder, who died on a bed he purchased with an embezzled money belonging to other people, rest in the bossom of the Lord?

What about false documents, false certificates, false declaration of age, certificate obtained through exam cheat etc; do you think all that will escape the probing eyes of the Lord and of the angels? Some can’t even be truthful on the information they entered in their profile on social media. Yet, they’re born again (or, they claim to be).

Is the woman living with you actually your wife? Have you paid her bride price? Does heaven recognize you two as husband and wife through proper wedding and blessings of parents? No wonder heaven is closed against you. Brother and Sister, you’re living in fornication! How will you be ready for the rapture with a stolen bride? Know this, beloved, “Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15).

Yes, you have repented from sin; yes, you’re born again and possess the grace to do right, but your salvation isn’t complete unto eternity without righting your past wrongs. You must reconcile your earthly accounts down here before you appear up above, or there could be no place of rest for you.

Notice that Jesus did not pronounce salvation on Zacchaeus until he had first made a pledge of what he would do to show he had actually repented. “And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:8-10).

Restitution attests to the genuineness of our repentance, and it is commanded by God (Exodus 22:1-17). Abimelech returned Abraham’s wife after God rebuked him sharply for his foolishness (Gen 20:2-14). It was also practiced by Paul the Apostle (Philemon 1:18,19).

The way to eternal life is a hard one, Jesus predicted it so (Luke 13:24). Many won’t be able to endure it. Surely, unresolved restitution will ensure many beautiful souls don’t make it into God’s eternal Kingdom. Please, don’t be part of that sad statistics.

Yes, there may be ridicule, suffering and possible deprivation when you decide to make your restitution, but would you know that the sufferings of the present cannot, in any way, compare with the glory that awaits us (Rom 8:18)?
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matt 24:13). And hear our Saviour’s speaks, “I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS: I will come to you” (Jn 14:18).

Run to escape eternal damnation in hell. Don’t allow your Christian service, sacrifices, self-denials, offerings, and above all, the death of Jesus Christ go to waste on you because of unresolved restitution. Let no one take your crown (Rev 3:11). Make that call. Send that text. Confess that truth. Bust that lying rumour you maliciously started. Humble yourself to initiate that reconciliation. Do that ‘correction marriage’ wedding (it doesn’t need to be an expensive one; go see your in-laws, pay your wife’s dowry and go to marriage registry). No price is too great to pay to gain eternal life.

Talk to a godly minister to counsel and guide you on making delicate and knotty restitutions. Some restitutions will be clear and straight forward, while others may be knotty and impossible (the blood of Jesus will suffice for those ones); find out from a godly minister of God (Examples of knotty restitution is the restitution of a former armed robber, ‘419’ and yahoo scammers, or being impregnated by another man outside your marriage, or you collaborated with other people to defraud a company or the government etc). By all means, go make yourself heard, let heaven observe you take a step. Go make your restitutions! Do it right away, before death comes knocking!

1) O Lord, my Father, help me to make my restitution before it is too late, in Jesus Name!
2) Power of death and hell over my life, be exposed and be destroyed, in Jesus Name! Amen.#Raphael
