THE HELMET OF SALVATION
Put on the Helmet of Salvation by believing that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead. By this you have hope of redemption and salvation (Romans 8:24,25). Demonstrate this by acknowledging your sins, repenting from them and accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. Helmets protect the center of life in times of accident, so it is with the hope of salvation that you have in Christ, it keeps you going, no matter what is going on in your life. It also enables you put to use all the other armours, since you’re kept alive by the helmet.

If a soldier takes an arrow in the head and dies on the field of battle, his armours become useless. You may lose everything in this life, but make sure you don’t lose your salvation. No matter what’s going on, keep on believing in Jesus Christ, keep on praying, keep on reading the Bible, keep on in obedience, and keep on coming back to the Lord.

THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Not our own righteousness, which is filthy rags before God (Is a 64:6), but the righteousness that comes to us through faith in Christ, Who exchanged His righteousness for our own sinfulness when He died on the Cross for us. This righteousness of Christ is obtained and personalized for the believer who believes in Jesus’ sacrifice as being for his sake.

Please know that there’s no righteousness any of us may boast of that would be acceptable to God. Our righteousness is only in solidarity to Christ’s righteousness as we obey His commandments, then the Father sees us through the righteousness of His Son. Jesus says, “If ye love me, keep my commandments. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love” (Jn 14:15; 15:10. Additionally, Read Romans 3:21,22.

This righteousness works by love, love for God, most supreme, and love for man – which manifests by doing to others what we would want them do to us (Mark 12:29-31). This righteousness protects us from all negative forces like resentment, unforgiveness, bitterness, discouragement and despair which can corrupt our hearts and spoil our lives. It is a breastplate of practical love towards all men in which there are no weak points that Satan can penetrate.

FEET PREPARED WITH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
The Gospel produces peace of heart and mind in those that believe it. This armour represents readiness to preach the Gospel of peace wherever and whenever the Lord requires of us. Join the work by telling others how the Lord saved you. We need to be at peace with God and with ourselves to be able to communicate peace to others. Preparation includes study and memorization of the scriptures; and to communicate intelligently the Gospel message with our words and lifestyles.

THE SHIELD OF FAITH
Faith is being sure that God will keep His promises, including those of protection and provision (Heb 11:1,6). I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread (Ps 37:25).

It is by faith we overcome Satan and the world (1Jn 5:4). It is faith that defends us against all satanic and worldly offensives including direct physical attacks at us, our loved ones, our properties and finances. It is faith that quenches the fiery arrows of evil thoughts, temptations, doubts and lusts.

THE BELT OF TRUTH
Truth is the absence of lie in all its forms. Roman soldiers used the belt to smart up so that nothing stands in the way of action. Lie, hypocrisy and religious insincerity will stand in the way of whom God wants us to be, and what God is asking us to do. As a weapon, we must be honest, sincere, open and frank in our dealings with all men.

THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
This is the Word of God. It is the weapon of our offensive and defensive. Jesus conquered Satan by the Word when He said, “It is written…”. Study and arm yourself with the Word of God in the Bible. In prayer, use it to confront the powers that oppose the purpose of God in your life; use it to win and empower souls for the Lord.

WATCHING AND PRAYING -THE CEMENTING AGENTS
The cementing agent that keeps all the armours in place is watching and praying. Be prayerful. “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38).

Watch your words, your actions and most importantly, your thoughts. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer (Ps 19:14).

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please, note that there is no armour to protect the back because we are not expected to turn our backs on the enemy. It’s forward ever to victory (Exodus 23:27), in Jesus Name.#Raphael
