And it came to pass in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign that he began to build the house of the LORD ( 1kings 6vs1)
Working for God should not be a detriment of your walking with God. Many men that wrought great works for God are men whose Lives God really worked upon. They were not carried away with their zeal for God, but was driven by their staying with God. For they understood that the more we stay with God the easier our service for God is. Little done with much result is not that we are so skillful or so energised but because we have grasp the code of waiting in God. For the more we wait in God the faster we run for HIM.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint
The strength of those that waited for God was not disappointed or ashamed. They never regretted the moment they spent with Jesus. They were not intimidated by the pressure of those who are already running for God. No, they rather sat until the time of their showing forth
In the fourth year that Solomon began to build the house of the LORD✍✍
It was in the fourth year he began to build and not in the first year. For he knew he needed divine wisdom, understanding and a largeness of heart to execute the purposes of God. He knew he was saved to serve, but he didn’t allow the pressure for service cost him the encounter he had with God in the chapter 3 of his life. He waited for God so he could mount up with wings as eagles.
Why are you rushing to build God a house when God has not build stature in you? Why are you so In a hurry to go for missions work when there a lot of missions God wants to carry out in your life
I was speaking to a believer some days ago and told her there are some deliverer that needs deliverance. It was not cleared to the fellow until I elaborated the saying more vividly and said; brother Samson was so quick to fight against the Philistines, he was eager to destroy the lion that confronted him, he was so energetic to pull down the city gate of the enemy, but too slow to uproot the lust that was lurking in his heart, his eyes were to dim to notice the battles he need to fight within. He didn’t realise the greatest battle a believer will ever fight is the war within a man’s life. All the external battles is only insignificant compared to the many battles that is going on inside of us.
Yet I see many contemporary believers making the same mistakes, where a minister who is delivering others of the demonic oppression in their lives but he himself is overcomed with the demon of lust. He is delivering others while he needs deliverance. To him his own deliverance is not as important compared to a person who is suffering from ancestral powers. He views that one as a greater battle to fight and his own as the lesser battle.
But for Solomon it was not so. He didn’t dive into building the house of God( what we call ministry) but after 4years of his ordination as a king ( salvation experience).
May the Lord give you understanding on this issue in Jesus name
