“And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.”Genesis 5:3-5 ~NKJV
Abel was killed by his brother, Cain when he was between 20 and 30 years of age. After this event, Seth was born when Adam was 130 years old. Then, Adam lived another 800 years. Adam lived more than 800 more years after his son, Abel, was killed by his eldest son, Cain.
My thought: When Adam died, did he remember Abel during his 800 more years of life? I don’t know. Did he remember? But I know this for sure, GOD remembered Abel!It was the thief who said, “Remember me.”“Then he said to Jesus, ‘Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.’” (Luke 23:42)Not much is said of Abel, but everyone knows him. He is recorded in GOD’s Word:“
By faith Abel offered to GOD a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, GOD testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.”(Hebrews 11:4)
“For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.”(1 John 3:11, 12)
GOD will never forget anyone!
