“Therefore, as the elect of GOD, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”Colossians 3:12-14 ~NKJV

What do “Holiness” and “Forgiveness” have in common?”HOLY~ (hágios) implies something “set apart” and therefore “different (ie. special to the Lord)”“And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.” (Leviticus 20:26)

May be an image of text that says "Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. വ Proverbs17.9"

FORGIVE~ (aphíēmi) implies something that is “put away from”; to send away; release (discharge).“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)Both words imply a separation:’Holy’ implies separating yourself from that which is not good. It is a new way of living: “But seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

‘Forgive’implies separating yourself from a wrong that has been done to you and treating it as if it never happened. It’s putting GOD’s grace into effect: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to GOD, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD.” (Romans 12:1, 2)

Holiness and forgiveness are manifested in your life when you imitate GOD!

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as GOD in Christ forgave you.

Therefore be imitators of GOD as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to GOD for a sweet-smelling aroma.”Ephesians 4:31-32, 5:1-2GOD bless His Word!
