Words for the day

Forgive all men

According to Wikipedia, “Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, let go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well.” In our text of today, Our Lord Jesus Christ encourages us to forgive those who persecute us or speak evil of us.

According to Martin Luther King Jr., “Forgiveness is not just an occasional act: it is a permanent attitude.” Do not forget Joseph who forgave his brothers in spite of all the evils they did against him.

Stephen did the same by forgiving and praying for his enemies who stoned him to death. Jesus, our perfect example, prayed for all sinners and enemies on the cross before giving up the ghost.
We are the light of the world and we are expected to demonstrate the qualities of Christ where ever we find ourselves.
